Does Barclay College accept courses from other colleges and universities?
Yes, in order to start this process, please submit an official transcript(s) demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all nursing and general education coursework from an accredited college or university located within the United States. Credits from non-accredited schools are considered on a case-by-case basis. For more information, please see the Barclay College Student Handbook.
How can I find out if my previous college courses meet Barclay College’s nursing-specific general education requirements?
After submitting your transcripts, you will work with your admissions representative and nursing advisor to answer any necessary degree audit questions. If you have questions regarding transferability prior to applying, please reach out to nursingadmissions@barclaycollege.edu.
How many credits are required for full-time status?
Students are defined to be full-time in the fall and spring semesters if they are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours. During the summer session, at least 6 credit hours are required for full-time status.
How do I schedule an appointment with the nursing advisor?

How long is the program?
If taking a full-time course load, the program can be completed in as little as 2 semesters.
Can I be a part-time student?
Yes, absolutely! You can take the program as slowly as you would like. We are flexible and ready to assist you in building a schedule that works for your life.
What is the cost of the program?
$420 per credit hour for tuition and $30 per credit hour for fees. The program is 30 credit hours in total. If you are taking the program on a part-time basis, the total amounts are charged. If you take the program as a full-time student, you will receive an internal scholarship of $1,200, bringing the total program cost to $10,800. Please note that costs are subject to change, and there may be additional program-specific costs required throughout the duration of the program.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, Barclay College offers an internal scholarship of $1,200 to each full-time student in the program.
Are online students eligible for financial aid?
Yes, just fill out the FAFSA (fafsa.ed.gov). If you are enrolled in at least six credits (typically two classes) per semester, and you are seeking a degree, you may receive federal financial aid in the form of grants or federal loans.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, typically, you must pay ¼ of semester costs up front, with the remainder set up in payments throughout the semester.
Can I transfer credits from other schools?
Yes, if you’ve taken college courses before, send us your official transcript(s)! We can create a degree audit for you showing which classes transfer and how many you will complete at Barclay College.
Can I transfer credits from another BSN program?
Yes, in addition to fulfilling the Barclay College Transfer Students requirements, students wishing to transfer from another BSN program into the RN-BSN degree completion program are required to:
1. Submit an RN-BSN Nursing Program Application.
2. Submit an official transcript(s) demonstrating the completion of an ADN degree or diploma, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all nursing and general education prerequisite coursework, from an accredited school of nursing located within the United States. Official transcripts must be sent directly from your school(s) to Barclay College. Digital copies may be sent to: nursingadmissions@barclaycollege.edu. Printed copies may be sent to: Barclay College, Attention: Nursing Admissions, 607 N Kingman Haviland, KS 67059. Credits from non-accredited schools are considered on a case-by-case basis.
3. Submit course syllabi for all successfully completed BSN courses.
I live outside of Kansas, how will the program work for me?
All theory courses may be completed online. Practicum coursework requirements will vary by course. Because each state has its own regulations, some students may be required to complete their practicum hours in Kansas to meet specific licensure or program standards.
Can I complete the program without ever stepping foot on campus in Haviland, Kansas?
Yes, unless you would like to attend the graduation and pinning ceremonies.
Do I get to choose my practicum location?
Yes, with approval from the course instructor and practicum site. Please keep in mind, because each state has its own regulations, some students may be required to complete their practicum hours in Kansas to meet specific licensure or program standards.
How often are they?
Students will complete one credit hour (15 clock hours) of practicum in their second semester during the Populations and Global Health in Professional Nursing Practice course and three credit hours (45 clock hours) of practicum in their third semester during the Professional Nursing Practice Practicum course.
How far in advance will I receive my practicum schedule?
Information regarding practicums will be given to students at the beginning of the respective semesters. Students will coordinate the required practicum hours with guidance and approval from the preceptor and course instructor.
Do I need any special technology?
You will need reliable access to the internet. Chrome or Firefox browsers are recommended. A camera and microphone are necessary to attend virtual office hours with your professors.
