Josiah Gunn joins the Barclay Bears after spending the better part of the last decade as an assistant coach at NAIA D1 Sterling College and professional Division 2 Aguilas de la U in Panama City, Panama.
Josiah grew up in the Republic of Panama where he played both varsity high school soccer and club soccer. He then continued his playing career at the NAIA D1 level in the United Sates and immediately after his playing career felt the call to coach.
At the NAIA D1 level he has coached coached 1 NAIA All American | 29 All Conference Players | 14 Scholar Athletes | 1 NCCAA All Region Player of the Year | 4 NCCAA All Region Players. At the professional level, Josiah helped Aguilas reach the final of their conference not only at the first team level, but also at the U18 Academy level. This was the first time in program history that they had achieved this. Josiah brings a host of recruiting connections and possibilities with him and has this to say:
“I want to thank Ryan and Scott for giving me the opportunity to lead this program. I am extremely excited about this new challenge in my coaching career. God has placed it on my heart to use my passion for soccer to make his name known. I look forward to all the work that is to be done with the program and cannot wait to see what is in store for our future.”
