Academic Support

Writing Center

Bring the assignment, the unfinished draft, or the question you cannot quite solve. Barclay peer advisors will work through it with you.

Come Write With Us

A conversation about the work, not a correction service.

Good academic writing begins with clear thinking. The Writing Center helps students make decisions about purpose, structure, evidence, and revision so instructors can engage the ideas instead of getting stopped by preventable problems.

Peer advisors are selected for their writing experience and familiarity with Barclay assignments. Support is available across disciplines and at any stage of the process. Advisors will not write a paper for you; they will help you move it forward.

A Writing Session

Start wherever you are.

You do not need a polished draft to make an appointment. Earlier conversations often save the most time.

01

Bring the work

Come with an assignment, question, outline, or draft. You do not need to wait until a paper feels finished.

02

Work with an advisor

Use a half-hour session to focus on ideas, organization, evidence, revision, grammar, formatting, or citation.

03

Leave with a next step

Your advisor will help you see what to do next while keeping the thinking and writing your own.

Appointments

Choose the format that works.
