As part of the school’s national accreditation requirements, Barclay College recently submitted progress reports to the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), both for the undergraduate and the graduate programs.
The College continues to be on track moving toward Higher Learning Commission – North Central region accreditation (HLC), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) accreditation, and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) for state teacher licensure in elementary education.
For HLC regional accreditation, the College recently submitted a “Letter of Intent to Complete Eligibility Filing” (on October 31, 2012), and the College plans to complete the “Eligibility Filing: Institutional Submission” by December 31. A panel will then review the filing, with the possibility of allowing the College to submit a “Letter of Intent to Pursue Candidacy” by the summer of 2013. A “Candidacy Visit” would be in the spring or winter of 2014.
An ACSI accreditation team is scheduled to visit Barclay College on February 18-19, 2013. For KSDE, the College submitted our Letter of Intent and received official confirmation. The College has submitted potential visitation dates for March, September, or October, 2013.
November 26th will be the fifth annual Campus of Light celebration. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. that evening and is held in front of Phillips Hall. There will be musical numbers punctuated by the lighting of each building on campus. Aerial displays are included in the program. Everyone is invited to come watch and fellowship.
Our mission is to train leaders. In keeping with that goal Barclay College is stepping forward to provide estate planning seminars across the country. Leadership in stewardship is a high calling and we want to help our alumni and friends lead in this area. The seminar is not a sales pitch and there is no requirement to give anything to Barclay College. We want to raise good stewards who give wisely from their resources. Maybe it’s your church, a camp, a yearly meeting, a mission organization or the special people in your life.
If you would like us to bring an estate planning seminar to your area please let us know and we would be glad to serve you. You can contact Herb Frazier (620-862-5252) at the college to set up a seminar near you.
