Barclay College dismisses classes for one day each year during its Missional Conference. This year it was on September 26. A total of 236 people were assigned to work at various jobs.

The Barclay community completed eleven paint jobs including 5 houses, 2 fences, and 3 garages. They also worked on two yard fences, cleaned six yards, and began the process of roofing a garage. Outdoor windows were washed at three locations and students also cleaned out an antique store. Five dump trucks patrolled the town in search of trash, while others cleared three miles worth of highway litter. The future site of the Haviland Creation Museum saw significant leaps forward. In the downtown area, students restored a mural painted on the wall of a building under the direction of Hannah Kendall.

The community of Haviland is highly appreciative of the jobs accomplished. The town continues receiving support from the faculty and students at Barclay who continue advancing the town with follow-up projects.
