Barclay Men's Soccer

Coach Jason Van Meter is very excited about the 2007 soccer season! There are a lot of talented new players, a good group of key players from last year, and a great chance to win games this year. With 11 returning players and 10 new players including two talented goalies, the Barclay 2007 soccer team has a lot of potential.

A new position has been developed for the team this year and hopefully for many years to come. One of the guys felt a burden to bring the message of Christ to all the teams we play this year; not just on the field but off the field as well. For the first time in several years, we have a Chaplain for the Barclay soccer team. The main theme of Barclay soccer has always been about bringing "Glory to God". This year we are also focusing on 1 Timothy 4:8 "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." and John 3:30 "He must become greater; I must become less." All the guys out there this year love soccer but our passion for growing in Christ is unrivaled. We know that playing soccer can be about soccer, but it can also be about growing in our relationship with Christ.
