Haviland, KS – MCCC powerhouse Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, KS) came to Barclay College on Tuesday and handed the Bears their first conference loss of the year.

The Crusaders came out of the gates quickly, established a lead and the Bears were unable to match their play. After losing the first set 10-25 and the second set 9-25, the Bears began to get some touches on the front line and slow down the Crusaders attack. However, the Crusader were a little too much to handle this night and took the third set 16-25 for a straight sets victory over the Bears.

Freshman Lauren Wells (Halstead, KS) had nine digs and two aces to lead the Bears while Sophomore Kalyn Switzer (Weatherford, OK) contributed another six digs to lead the Bears defensive attack.

Barclay College Volleyball (3-4, 1-1) will play a pair of conference matches over the weekend. They will go head to head with Calvary Bible College (Kansas City, MO) on Friday, September 14th at 5:00 PM CST and Saturday, September 15th they will be up against Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO) at 1:00 PM.
